Our location in Georgetown affords us the opportunity to work around a variety of distractions, ensuring your dog will be equipped to handle any situation in a behaved and controlled manner. With decades of experience in training and behavior modification our staff can help you manage your dogs behavior and make your lives together pleasurable. The Dog Shop has different course options to choose from so that you can find a course that’s right for you. We also offer a free evaluation to help you decide which option will help you and your dog to achieve your goals.
Puppies eight to twenty weeks are eligible for our Puppy Pre-School. Puppy Pre-School includes two half hour to forty five minute sessions that are given to you and your dog. We will cover housebreaking, confinement, schedule, working for food, socialization, leash breaking, preventing problem behavior, and making sure your puppy is headed in the right direction.
Once your dog is five months old you can enroll him in one of our basic level courses. The exercises we teach are to heel, sit, down, stay, come, and down at a distance; all on a six and fifteen foot leash around distractions provided in Georgetown.
Our intensive three week course enables you to reap the benefits of training without the repetitive learning process. Our trained staff will work with your dog for three half hour sessions each day, Tuesday through Friday for three weeks. You will have three forty five minute handling classes at the end of each week, individually scheduled with you, to learn how to handle and reinforce your dog’s new good habits. This course provides you real world solutions to everyday issues without having to set your life aside to achieve your goals.
Our private lesson course offers you the ability to work with your dog during the learning process. Six one hour lessons are given over six weeks. Individual lessons allow for a flexible schedule and teaching style to best fit you and your dog’s needs. If you have the time and the commitment this is a fabulous way to build a relationship with your dog and reinforce the behaviors you desire.
